Just a heads up

Before I post our actual monthly update, I should warn you that it hasn't been great. NOT AT ALL. I don't know what the heck happened, but for some reason my credit card was in my purse again and has finally been removed today. I plan on getting my spending back on track now, no more adding to the credit card debt. As I mentioned in the last post, I will be adding a student loan soon enough.

Anyway, I need to find the courage to finally cut up all of these stupid cards. My main issue with this is the "what ifs".. What if my debit card doesn't work and I don't carry cash? What if some emergency happens and my poor $100 Emergency Fund is not enough? etc. I think I need to work on getting my Emergency Fund some money in it and then I will rethink cutting up the cards. For now, it seems enough to keep them out of my purse so I won't wrecklessly spend money I don't have.

I was trying to see if there are people with similar interests and stumbled upon your blog. My interest in finance is more of how one can start having financial independence and how the education system can help the people achieve their financial independence.

My best wishes to you on your attempt to improve your finances.

You really need to cut up those cards but remember you still have the accounts (try not to use them to increase you debt). I do think that $100.00 Emergency Fund is way to low. I know that Dave Ramsey says $1,000 - somethink you should aim for.
I know that I can't talk as I only have about £200 in my Emergency Fund, but that would fund my expenses for one month.
Anyway all the best on your journey!

Thank you guys for reading & commenting! I know I'm not the most successful person so far in paying off my debt, but I hope my story can help someone, even if it's just to share the pain =D
